Transforming lives…

A mother's testimony:

Awhile back my life was filled with anguish and sadness as I wasn't seeing any improvement in my son's physical condition and just for him to walk seemed like an impossible challenge.  My son was diagnosed with spina bifida and equine foot, which greatly affect his ability to walk and have correct posture.  Nevertheless, ever since entering [Un Mundo's Special Education Program], the therapists working with him have achieved incredible advances in the physical health of my son, and he is now even attending kindergarten to receive an education.
Just as with my son, there are many more whose lives are being transformed, something that not only helps the children themselves, but also the self-esteem of the parents and family as a whole, who are all ecstatic seeing their child's quality of life being improved.
That our children are getting an opportunity to get an education, as well as specialized and personalized therapy, is something that really inspires us to continue advocating for their rights, which historically have been denied.  Our struggle has just begun, and we are convinced that tomorrow we will have a more just world, filled with hope for all persons with special needs.
We are very thankful to Un Mundo for the support they have given us through the program, and to all the supporters and donors that have made this type of intervention possible.  Without the support of you all, our kids would have a darker, more frustrating path.
