our projects

Un Mundo facilitates projects based on the needs of our many partnering communities.  We encourage these communities to identify projects they deem to be appropriate solutions to specific needs.  Un Mundo acts primarily as a resource for community projects, giving logistical, technical and financial support.  Any idea for a new project that a community might bring to the organization is eligible to receive Un Mundo's support when it is founded in a democratic process, reflects our mission, and seeks to benefit the community as a whole.  Our programs vary, and include specifically geared workshops and one-off events, as well as long term undertakings that are designed to become a permanent part of the communities where we work.  All of our programs/projects are facilitated by a group of Un Mundo's core staff, with the support of members of the local community.
Literacy Connections
Reading is a magical adventure that can transform lives and open a world of possibilities.  We are helping to plant the seeds that will bring about generational change.

Special Education

Offering education, as well as access to health services and rehabilitation, we assist in improving the quality of life of program participants.  We are the voice of the invisible and we believe that true change happens when you believe in yourself.
Water and Basic Sanitation
Water is the basis for all life, that which allows us to go about our daily activities.  With a gray water management program already underway, this holistic project aims to offer a dependable supply of clean water to the community of El Pital.
Guest Houses - 'Mi Casa Su Casa'

True cross-cultural experiences that are mutually beneficial.  Un Mundo can arrange homestays for travelers from across the globe who seek to share and better understand the daily lives of Honduran families.  New friendships are created, delicious meals are shared, and lives are transformed.
